How to Read This

The large number is your composite score on the standard mean-100, SD-15 scale, shown instantly with no sign-up. Below it, the four category bars break down performance by reasoning type rather than folding everything into one undifferentiated number.

In this example, the test taker’s spatial reasoning (82) is notably stronger than their logical reasoning (68), a pattern a single composite score alone would never reveal. See the full methodology for how these numbers are calculated, or take the real test to get your own.

What Each Category Tells You

Spatial: how well you mentally rotate shapes, complete visual patterns, and reason about objects in space without relying on words or numbers. This category draws on the same skills measured by our visual memory test and pattern recognition sprint.

Numerical: your ability to spot patterns and relationships in number sequences and apply arithmetic reasoning under time pressure.

Logical: working from a stated rule or premise to the one conclusion that must follow, independent of prior knowledge.

Applied: real-world reasoning scenarios that combine logic, arithmetic, and practical judgment, the kind of thinking that shows up in everyday decisions rather than abstract puzzles.

Why the Breakdown Matters More Than the Single Number

Two people can land on the exact same composite score, say 110, while having very different underlying strengths: one scoring high on spatial and numerical reasoning but average on logical and applied, the other showing the reverse pattern. A single blended number hides this completely. The category breakdown is what actually tells you something useful about how your mind works, not just where you rank overall.

This is also why we report results this way across the whole site, not just the main test: each of our individual brain games isolates one specific skill for the same reason, rather than folding everything into one vague score.
